The Athletics Department provides a comprehensive athletic program with opportunities for participation at the intercollegiate, club, intramural and recreational levels. The Catholic Cardinals compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, Landmark Conference, New England Men's and Women's Athletic Conference (football only), and Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference for Men's and Women's Rowing. Catholic University is committed to establishing and maintaining an environment in which athletic participation is conducted as an integral part of a student athlete's educational experience.

Raymond A. DuFour Athletic Center
Raymond A. DuFour Athletic Center is one of CUA's most popular facilities. The center provides opportunities for everyone, regardless of fitness level or athletic ability, to improve their overall health and well being. The center features a 25-yard pool, basketball and volleyball courts, a state of the art weight-training room, a dance studio, saunas, and an indoor running area. The outside portion of the center features Cardinal Stadium, home to our football and field hocket teams; Carlini Field where our soccer and lacrosse teams play; a six-lane, 400-meter track; six tennis courts; and playing fields for baseball and softball.

Catholic University Varsity Teams
CUA competes in the NCAA Division III Landmark Conference. The football team is a member of the New England Men's and Women's Athletic Conference and our rowing teams compete in the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference. The university fields men's teams in cross country, basketball, indoor & outdoor track and field, baseball, tennis, soccer, swimming, lacrosse, rowing, golf, and football. Women's teams include basketball, field hockey, volleyball, tennis, indoor & outdoor track and field, softball, soccer, swimming, lacrosse, cross country, rowing, and golf.

Intramural Programs
CUA conducts intramural programs in several sports that are available to all students. The program consists of five seasonal team activities for men and women: touch football, soccer, basketball, softball and volleyball; softball and volleyball teams can also play in co-ed leagues. All graduate students are welcome to participate in intramural programs.

Club Sports
CUA sponsors the following club sports: ballroom dance, cheerleading, CUltimate frisbee, ice hockey, men's rugby, women's rugby, men’s lacrosse, SAAC, and CUA Dance Team.

Eugene I Kane Fitness Center

The 7000 square foot fitness Center offers state of the art Precor Cardiovascular Equipment, a complete circuit of Nautilus weight machines, and a free weight area. The fitness center's mission is to provide students, who are studying at CUA, the opportunity to maintain and develop healthy lifestyles. The center provides abdominal workouts, core training and conditioning as well as individual training programs for students. A number of classes and personal training services are also available.
